SPOTLIGHT

Project Lead

Sep 2020 - Nov 2020

SPOTLIGHT is a sadistic improv game for 3 - 6 players where players put each other on the spot to perform wacky tasks to the best of their ability. It originated as a solo "emotion game", designed to evoke joy, then was pitched and selected as a final project for Game Design Workshop at USC and expanded upon with a 4 person team.

I was the project lead and led the creative direction of the game, while also coordinating production, art, and documentation with the rest of my team. Because I was working on this project for 4 weeks before I pitched it and got a team, developing SPOTLIGHT taught me a lot about self-discipline and time management. It also taught me how to be flexible with my ideas once my three teammates were brought on, and the painstaking iterative process of game development, as we constantly revised our systems and rules.

The pitched version of SPOTLIGHT is available as a Steam Workshop Mod for Tabletop Simulator. The final version was created on GameCrafter but is unavailable for purchase. A print and play version is currently in development.
